Who we are

One office, ten minutes from the terminal

The office sits at the Ramada Resort & Golf Hotel, north of the marina and ten minutes from the cruise terminal. The brand was created in 2012 for one kind of guest: a cruise passenger with a fixed all-aboard time who wants a private, licensed guide and a day planned around the ship rather than around a coach. The licence we operate under is TÜRSAB #2290, the public registry of every licensed Turkish tour operator.

One policy sets the tone for everything else on this site. You pay when the tour is over, in cash or by card, and we ask for no deposit and no card details before you arrive. We have run it long enough to know it works, and it answers the question most guests are quietly asking in their cabin the night before port: can I trust an operator I have never met?

How we work

Three things that decide a port day.

Each one is here because a cruise guest arrived at the port unsure of us and it had to hold. None of them is decoration.

  • Planned backwards from all-aboard

    Every itinerary starts at the time printed in your ship’s daily programme and works back to the gangway. Meeting point, drive times, time on site and the return buffer are measured in real minutes, and on the morning of the tour we track your ship’s position so the guide is at the pier when you walk off, not before. If the ship is late, the programme is shortened, never the margin. The return is guaranteed, and our note on how we track your cruise ship shows what that looks like on a difficult morning.

  • Tickets already in hand

    Every admission on your programme is bought before you dock and held by your guide as a skip-the-line QR-coded ticket. You walk past the ticket window at the Upper Gate rather than joining it. The ticket money is inside the rate on each tour page; there is nothing to pay at the gate.

  • Trust you can check

    The TÜRSAB licence number is on every page, and the registry is public. Our reviews on Tripadvisor and Google carry the guests’ own names and dates, and we link to them rather than print a badge. Distances, durations and dollar amounts are written out on each tour page so you can test the plan against your own port call before you book.

The people

Capacity is the number of guides we trust

Your guide holds a Ministry of Culture and Tourism guiding licence, which is a legal requirement inside Ephesus and is checked at the site. Our guides are on a monthly salary rather than commission, which is why the day is built around the ruins and not around a stop that pays somebody else. Drivers work with the same guides through the season, so the vehicle is at the Lower Gate when you come out, not being called.

Because a private day depends on the guide and not on the vehicle, our capacity on any port day is the number of guides we trust, not the number of seats we can find. On the busiest days we say no rather than double up. If we confirm your date, the guide is assigned to you and to nobody else.

The articles and guides on this site are written by Volkan Yırtımcı, and the booking desk that reads your message is the same small office that plans your day. There is no call centre between you and the people running the tour.

Where to find us

Your guide waits at the Starbucks inside the Kuşadası port plaza, holding a sign with your name. It is a two-minute walk from the gangway. Our office is at the Ramada Resort & Golf Hotel on the north side of the marina, though there is no need to visit it; everything is settled at the pier and at the end of the day. Before you book

Questions guests ask before they book.

Yes. Tayf Tours DMC holds TÜRSAB licence number 2290. TÜRSAB is the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies, and every licensed operator in Türkiye is listed in its public registry. The guides who work with us hold their own Ministry of Culture and Tourism licence, which is required to guide inside Ephesus.

Because cruise guests show up. You have a ship to catch and a guide waiting with your name on a sign, and in our experience that is a stronger commitment than a card on file. Paying at the end also means that if your ship cannot dock, you owe nothing and there is no refund to chase.

We track the ship on the morning of the tour. If it docks late, the programme is shortened to protect the return. If the call is cancelled, so is the tour, at no cost to you.

Yes. Tayf Tours DMC is the licensed agency; Tours of Ephesus is the name it uses for cruise guests. Same guides, same vehicles, same licence, same office in Kuşadası.

A licensed, English-speaking guide assigned to your group alone for the day. We confirm the guide when we confirm your date, and your e-ticket carries the meeting point and the all-aboard time we are working back from.

Yes, free of charge up to 48 hours before the tour. Inside 48 hours, message us as early as you can. Since nothing is paid in advance, there is never a refund to wait for.
